​Middle Tennessee State Wrestling

MTSU Wrestlers worked alongside representatives from MTSU’s Leadership and Service Department and Alumni Association, as well as members of the Stormwater program, to help clean up Maney Springs located near Murfreesboro’s historic Oaklands, which is also the start of Sinking Creek.

The joint effort took place in April between 1-3pm and yielded nearly 70lbs of litter and trash from the area where MS4 runoff often deposits pollution and trash along the creek bed and surrounding area.

This event is one of many community service projects that the MTSU Wrestlers participate in throughout the year, including this June’s Rutherford County Relay for Life, at which many wrestlers, coaches, family members, and friends of the program will celebrate those that have fought or know someone who has fought cancer.

MTSU Wrestling - Making a Difference

MTSU Wrestling is proud to be a part of this year’s Rutherford County Relay for Life on June 15th at the Lane Agri Park passed the bridge on Old Fort Pkwy near Sam’s Club from 6pm to 6am as they help fight against Cancer and help to remember those who have fallen to it. This is part of a larger project through MTSU Wrestling’s parent association, the NCWA, known as the 612 project based on Ephesians 6:12…”For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” Cancer definitely fits the description above. For a nominal fee of $10, anyone can join our team as we try to raise awareness and money to combat this dark disease that took the lives of 571,950 Americans in 2011 (more 1,500 a day) and is expected to effect 1,596,670 more throughout the course of the year
